Marty–in part that depends on the definition of smarter. And smarter at what? Smarter at humans playing chess happened a long time ago, but is really just extreme number crunching. it may become smarter at some things sooner than at others. I don’t expect it to write the great American novel anytime soon. But who the hell knows?
